Brink Agents of Change DLC Due Next Week

Written by Administrator

Badman from Splashdamage has confirmed that the new DLC called Agents of Change is due out next week (August 3rd). The new update which will come out on all 3 gaming platforms on the same day will bring 2 new maps, 5 new abilities, 2 new outfits and 2 new gun attachments. Here's the lowdown from Splashdamage:

We've got several great pieces of Brink news for you today, including a release date for the "Agents of Change" DLC and a new title update for the console versions of Brink.
Agents of Change

First of all, we're delighted to be able to announce that both the Brink "Agents of Change" DLC has passed certification for the consoles and will be released on Xbox Live, PSN, and Steam on 3 August! Once it's out, you'll be able to download it for free for two whole weeks (and if you do so, you'll be able to re-download the content at no charge later on, too).
Agents of Change brings two new maps to Brink, Founders' Tower and Labs, as well as five new player abilities, two new outfits, and two weapon attachments- for more information on all the new content you'll find in the pack, check out this previous blog update. Naturally, Agents of Change also contains several new Xbox/Steam achievements and PSN trophies for you to go after.
To celebrate the impending release of Agents of Change, we've got a bunch of new screenshots showing off both Founders' Tower and Labs. You can find those sprinkled throughout this update, like so:

Xbox 360/PS3 Title Update

But that's not all! In addition to Agents of Change, we've also been hard at work on a comprehensive new title update for both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 versions of Brink. Better yet, this update is available on Xbox Live right now, with PlayStation 3 set to receive it later today. Keep on reading for some of the highlights - we've also got the full, unedited changelog at the very end of this blog.

Brink Patch Coming Next Week

Written by Administrator

Splashdamage have announced they will be releasing a patch for Brink next week, included in the patch is a fix for the sound bug on PC where the sound cuts out on certain maps, server browser tweaks, dedicated sever update, modifications to improve network performance on the 360 and more. Here's the update from SplashDamage:

An Update on Brink Updates

Just wanted to give everyone an update on where we’re currently at with our upcoming game updates for Brink.

Xbox 360

We’ve been hard at work investigating the lag issues some players of the Xbox 360 version of Brink have reported. We’ve now completed modifications to improve network performance and will be rolling these out in a title update for the game.

This update has been submitted to Microsoft, and we expect it to be available next week.

This title update is also going to fix an isolated freezing issue reported by some German players who should no longer experience that problem once the update has been installed.

PC

A game update for the PC version of Brink is in final testing and we’re planning to release it early next week. This update contains a host of fixes and improvements including the following:

We’ve identified the cause of sound dropping out on certain maps when playing networked games for a prolonged amount of time. This will no longer occur.

Graphical performance has been improved, especially when using Ambient Occlusion. We’ve worked closely with both AMD and NVIDIA, and you should see performance and stability improvements in future driver revisions from both parties.

The server browser is tweaked in this update, as well; among other things, a new filter allows you to display only servers with a certain number of players on them, and full servers will no longer be filtered out completely.

There are some smaller fixes for minor issues including your character’s voice occasionally resetting when deleting another character, and a memory leak when alt-tabbing out of the game.

Finally, the dedicated server is set to get an update at the same time as the main game, which will result in improved CPU performance. We’ve protected certain cvars that previously allowed server admins to accidentally break objectives involving NPCs.

The full changelog will be released alongside the update, so keep an eye out for that.
